Antonia Mahon, Founder, CEO and Principal Interior Designer, Blue Sparks.

Parisienne since 1999.

Antonia Mahon is the only Paris-based interior designer with 20 years French corporate experience specialising in full-service, luxury interior design for busy, executive level Paris-lovers. I guide my clients through every step of the space’s transformation, so that they can simply arrive and unpack their bags in their new pied-à-terre. As each of my designs is personalised to the client’s needs and their love of Paris, each interior I design is unique.

In order to ensure that clients can enjoy their journey of becoming Parisian, I use an exclusive, stress-free design process, which I have developed and fine-tuned over the years. This is especially important as generally my clients aren’t in Paris during the project. I am fully involved in, and accountable for, every aspect of remodelling, decorating and furnishing. I love redesigning floor plans to get the most from each square foot (apartments are much smaller in Paris!) and looking after every detail, all the way through to the final install and big reveal - complete with a bottle of chilled champagne, naturellement!

I pride myself on finding solutions to any issues that come up, and am known for my attention to detail and outstanding customer service. My sweet spot is getting to know my clients and delighting them with my designs. Clients use words like creative, proactive and excellent to describe me, and tell me that working with me far exceeds their expectations and that the results are way beyond their fondest dreams. I love that my clients are so happy to work with me and that they adore their new pied-à-terres - and I enjoy working with them enormously!

I also have created a group of trusted, bilingual professionals to help my clients on every step of their journey to creating their own pied-à-terre in Paris. I can recommend property search professionals, notaries, international tax experts, concierge services and investment experts who I know personally and trust to look after my clients’ best interests.

My corporate experience as Head of Organisation in a French Asset Management firm means that clients benefit from my process-oriented approach, organisation and management skills, as well as my fluent French and cultural knowledge. This ensures that clients happily delegate responsibility to let me manage the whole project.

Since I bought and renovated my first Parisian apartment in 2004, I have learnt to understand the Paris property market, renovation techniques and interior design practices. Since then, I have gathered a trusted team of local contractors, cabinet makers, decorators and artisans with whom I enjoy working and who share my vision of excellence. And if ever I don’t know how to solve a problem, as I’m extremely well integrated here in Paris, I know who to ask for advice!

I am passionate about historical architecture and make sure to highlight the original features in Parisian apartments. I enjoy mixing period and contemporary furniture and accessories to create elegant, chic interiors, tailored to my clients’ needs and desires.

Originally Irish, I came to Paris in the year 1999 and have lived in or around Paris ever since. I retrained to become an Architectural Interior Design with the Inchbald School of Design London. I also hold an honours Master of Arts in French and Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
