Cité Vaneau
Project type, size and location: Decoration of a 3 bedroom apartment (200 meter square) for a couple on an international work assignment (and their two cats!).
Difficulties overcome: Reduced budget as my clients were only staying for two years.
Testimonial: We moved to Paris for an expat assignment and rented a furnished apartment, but the style wasn't ours. We had a budget in mind to make our Parisian home feel like home, even for a short time. Antonia made it come alive, helped us leave our "beige" comfort zone, and brought French lifestyle to our apartment. We'll end up selling some of the furniture at the end of our assignment, but will take a lot of the decor back to the US so our permanent home can be inspired by Paris and by Antonia.

Before: My clients rented this furnished apartment. Beautiful Parisian (Haussmannian) ceiling cornices, wall mouldings and herringbone parquet. But the furniture was very cold and impersonal.
After: In the living room, we kept the sofas and gave the decoration a very Parisian feel with a blue and gold theme.
Before: My clients love to entertain, but the dining room was very cold and the acoustics were very bad.
After: I wanted my clients want to use this room for entertaining, so I made it very inviting and cosy using a lot of fabric. This also helped the acoutics: rug under the dining table, insulation and table cloth on the existing table, new fabric covered chairs.
Before: My clients worked from home most of the time, so we converted one of the bedrooms into an office.
After: The office with new desks and desk chairs. We kept one of the single beds and made it into a day bed. Again the use of fabrics helps soften the look and improves acoustics during conference calls.
